Flores da orquídea de Oncidium

Beautiful Oncidium orchid, photographed in Joinville, Santa Catarina, Brazil on 11/13/2013. Oncidium is a genus of orchids widely distributed from Mexico to southern South America. Golden-rain is one of the names popularly used in Brazil to designate a large group of species of orchids, once belonging to the genus and several other genera of flowers Similar. The main characteristic of this genus is the presence of a callus situated at the base of the flower's lip. The Oncidium flowers, however, may be yellow, brown, green, orange, white, rosy, and not infrequently tiger. Another characteristic present in most species is that the petals and sepals are rather small in relation to the lip. In most epiphytes, their pseudobulbs in most species are oval and flattened. Very used as flower-cut.
